The thought of a musical film version of The Master and Margarita, with Doris Day in the role of Margarita, might make some people smile.  Presumably, one at least.  That’s not to say that the idea of a Clara Bixby-type dancing around the Master’s basement apartment singing about Pontius Pilate‘s poisoned wine on the morning after Devil’s midnight ball doesn’t seem absurd. Believe me, it does.

When asked about the possibility of the film being made Doris Day reportedly said, “I like joy; I want to be joyous; I want to have fun on the set; I want to wear beautiful clothes and look pretty.  I want to smile and I want to make people laugh.  And that’s all I want.  I like it.”

” I like being happy.  I want to make others happy,” Day told ABC News.

In other news, margarita photodermatitis, or “Lime Disease” (not to be mistaken with “Lyme’s Disease”) is a skin condition caused by contact with the photosensitizing compounds — such as furanocoumarins — found naturally in some plants and vegetables.  ABC News understands that citrus fruits, including lemon and lime, as well as other fruits and vegetables like celery, parsley, figs and carrots, are among the main perpetrators.  But not coriander.
